The School History and Background
Le Van Tam Primary School was founded in 2007. Firstly, the school was named Phuong 1 Primary School but now it is named Le Van Tam Primary School. Le Van Tam was a teenager who sacrificed himself to enter the French armory during the Indochinese war. Le Van Tam was later considered a hero of Vietnam and to commemorate his services was made the name of a school and park in Vietnam. Le Van Tam Primary School is a public elementary school.
2. The School Location
Le Van Tam Primary School is located at 04 Võ Trường Toản street, District 1, TP. Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap. From the S.Y 2011-2012 untill now, Le Van Tam Primary School has been relocated to a new school's building that located at 12 Lê Thị Riêng street, Distict 1, TP. Cao Lãnh City, Đồng Tháp. Then the second building is being the main building of Le Van Tam Primary School.

Students of Le Van Tam Primary School become creative, proactive students in learning. Having good moral character and personality, promoting the learning ability at the junior high school level.

5. General Information
Le Van Tam Primary School is lead by their principal, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tai. There are 1603 students from 39 classes. The number of students per class is between 34-48 students per class, from grade one to grade five. The total number of the S.Y of the 2019-2020 is 175 days. The lesson are held five days per week, from monday to friday, starts from 7.30 AM to 11.30 AM in the morning and 01.30 PM to 04.30 PM in the afternoon.
The School is solidity build. At the main building, there are 30 classrooms, 6 working rooms, 1 stadium, 6 functional rooms for teaching English, Music, Arts and Informatics. School yard is lined with dal, planted with lawns and trees, variety flowers, and has a clean landscape.
The total number of staff and teachers is 64 including 49 women. There are 3 managers, 55 teachers including 14 subject teachers, 1 full-time teacher, 1 general teacher in charge of Ho Chi Minh Youth Leage team, 6 employees.
By the S.Y 2014-2015 , the school has 9 Intensive English Classes at the Continuing Education Center. In 2017, the school won an excellent labor collective award. In 2018, the unit received the emulation flag of the Prime Minister. At the end of each school year, the school has 100% students competing the curriculum, 80% of the students are rewarded for their academic achievement.
4. Academic Support System
The school provides adequate facilities to support the teaching and learning procces. Each class has a teacher's computer, air conditioner, fans, projector, and LCD TV. The school also has a computer room for grade 4 & 5 students practice, speaker for provide teacher's duties, internet connection, and a library.
5. Teaching System
The teaching system in this school is that each subject to be taught by the teachers within one hour per day. Each students has their textbook include workbook for each subject that provide by school. So students can learn learning material at home before lessons begin and students will do the assignments on the workbook given. The teachers using education publishing house method for all subjects and inculing education life skills depending to materials being studied. The main point of teaching in Vietnam is to improving life skills of the students for each subject.
The school is held from Monday to Friday, starts from 7.30 AM to 11.30 AM in the morning and 01.30 PM to 04.30 PM in the afternoon. For each grade has different subject to learn. Here is the list of subject for each grade :

6. Materials and Other Learning Sources
In this school, the teachers teaches the material using Vietnamese Language only teacher of English subject teaches using English. Also all of the textbook materials using Vietnamese language except English subject. Every students has their own workbook and textbook for each subject, so the students can learn more at home after the lessons ends. Teachers uses sylabus, internet (online textbook), powerpoint to provide the teaching and learning process.
7. Measurement and Evaluation System
The evaluation system in this school is follow the consolidation document No. 03 / VBHN-BGDĐT September 28, 2016 of Ministry of Education and Training. For every school year has 2 evaluations per semester include mid semester exam and final semester exam. For every weekend the students will evaluated about their attitudes and achievement of the assessments. Students will get a prize from the teacher for their achievement and for being good during the learning process. Particularry, teachers will write comments for the students instead of grading them.
8. Curriculum
An education system in Vietnam is arranged by Ministry of Education and Training and applied all over the nation. A school year often starts in September and ends in May as following the year. There are 35 weeks in a school year. All of the public primary school in Vietnam use curriculum from The Ministry of Education and Training. Only privat school or international school has their own curriculum. The curriculum in Vietnam has no specific name and it is issued by The Ministry of Education and Training. Every public primary school must follow the standard of knowledge for each subject.
9. Teaching Plan Related to My Major
For every teacher in public school should make their own lesson plan. The Ministry of Education and Training provides the topics and objectives of the lesson then the teachers designs the learning process. The lesson plan include the student and teacher's activities in the classroom and pedagogical terms. The elements of the lesson plan are as follows :
